> Pediatric trauma – MVA. Three other occupants deceased at the scene. She was the only one wearing a seatbelt, but she was also wearing a puffer jacket and she slipped through. I made the mistake of trying to cut the jacket off her in the trauma bay. Down feathers and blood everywhere. It looked like we had butchered an angel.

> Overdose. Called to a code in the 4th-floor visitor bathrooms but the patient was already long gone. His mother is a patient on cardiac stepdown. He came in to visit her and then shot up in the bathroom after. No one found him until housekeeping came around to clean and couldn’t get the door open. He died twenty feet from his mother’s room.

> Kelsey didn’t show up for work today. I should have known something was wrong right away. She’s never been late, not even by a minute. But it was hours before we finally called the police, and by then it was – fuck! What’s the point of writing all this out? Why would I ever want this back in my head? They put her in my bay when they brought her in, and I only recognized her by her jewelry. Deann says it was the boyfriend. I was picking fragments of bone out of her face like pieces of eggshell, like anything I did could possibly have helped at that point. I was the one who had to pronounce her.
Please confirm offload of target memory.
